Ga byé widmagoyak: What we were told

This book contains seven Potawatomi stories that share what speaker Jim Thunder was told by his elders. Jim begins by telling two stories about what was expected of him as he grew up and what was expected of him as a Potawatomi man. Jim next tells a story that explains the fraught relationship between Bodéwadmik and the United States Government. Jim then tells about two tails–one that wags and one that is short. The final story ends the book with Jim’s reflection on the current state of the world.
